Back for 2025 is our first competition of the year with the Hull’s Strongest Beginners and Inters Competition 2025. We are retaining last years format with Beginners and Inters 1 and 2.
Inters 1 - Athletes weighing under 110kg
Inters 2 - Athletes weighing over 110kg
This comp is designed to help bridge the gaps between first timers and novice, and from novice to weighted categories.
Weigh in for U110's will be on the day, goes without saying if you've podiumed at a previous Novice comp you don't belong in beginners. Check the event weights and choose your category accordingly.
Winners of each category will also gain automatic entry into their respective category at Hull's Strongest Man 2025.
Entry fee is £35 and to be paid via paypal friends and family, entry is only confirmed on receipt of comp fee.

Event 1 – Viking Press 60s max reps
Wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, no elbow wraps, Athletes to face OUT of the apparatus. Weight listed is weight loaded on the apparatus.
Beginners Men – 90kg
Inters 1 – 110kg
Inters 2 – 130kg
Event 2 - Deadlift max reps in 60s
Normal straps, fig 8s, No suits or briefs. Lifting on a deadlift bar.
Beginners Men – 170

Inters 2 - 250
Event 3 – Sandbag Carry and load. Max time 60s
10m Carry and load over 52” yoke, Grip shirts allowed.
Beginners Men – 60/70/80kg
Inters 1 – 80/90/100kg
Inters 2 – 90/100/110kg
Event 4 – Farmers walk max distance in 60secs.
Drop and turn at 15m
Beginners Men – 90kg per hand
Inters 1 - 110kg per hand
Inters 2 – 125kg per hand
Event 5 - Atlas Stone to shoulder max reps in 60s
NO Tacky allowed. Grip shirts allowed.
