Hula Performance with Hālau Nā Wai Ola
About this Event
You are cordially invited to the Chopsticks Alley Art's First Friday, featuring Hula Performances by Hālau Nā Wai Ola
Hālau Nā Wai Ola was established in 1997 in Sunnyvale, California, under the direction of Kumu Hula, Kauʻi Isa-Kahaku. Together with her husband Anson, their daughters, Kanoe & Leiola, and their haumāna, they have created a community steeped in aloha in the Heart of the Silicon Valley.
Exhibition on view: "Pearls Remember" featuring artist Charlene Tan.
Across the ocean, memory gathers slowly.Pressed by time, shaped by care, they become pearls.
This exhibition explores memory, migration, and the quiet labor of cultural continuity. Interwoven between the Philippines and the United States.
