HUGPUNCH RELEASE w. Trader An all star affiliate of MAPR and BATHOUSE, for fans of ovlov, hovvdy, spirit of the beehive and the like. HUGPUNCH is the name of ture and throu’s joint venture, and this is the official release of their first EP!!! The band was formed on a fateful September night after a trader-concert at Plan B. Blown away by the near perfect execution of a genre they love, Jesper and Harald started digging through their voice memos of cheesy midwest guitar riffs and started writing music together. The songs on this EP were written a few weekends later, during an intensive one day recording session with the ambition to write a whole album in a day. And as fate has it, HUGPUNCH and Trader meet again to celebrate the release of a collection of songs come to life in the shadow of this epic event! HUGPUNCH embraces simplistic, intuitive, guitar driven song writing in the spirit of emo rock. The band takes you on an honest, humorous soul searching quest through a kingdom of intimate heaviness. They sing sad songs with smiles on their faces.
TRADER
Since forming in 2019, Danish rock three-piece Trader have drawn attention with compelling live performances and critically acclaimed album releases with songs that embrace both the quiet and introspective, as well as the gritty and noisy. In the fall of 2022, Trader released their second album, “Their Best Work So Far”—a noisy pop record that garnered both great reviews and radio airplay. Following a long, fun, and intense period of concerts in and outside of Denmark, the band decided to take sort of a reflective hiatus, focusing on being something other than Trader for a while.
With the creative fire rekindled and fresh ideas bubbling to the surface, Trader dove back into the studio in the fall of 2024 and began recording their third album. Their new songs embrace a looser, less defined approach to songwriting, all while staying true to their endless love for good melodies wrapped in the right packaging. With a dynamic setlist blending fresh tunes and beloved classics, the band is charged up and ready to hit the stage.
