We are an art gallery/record store and you are welcome to browse and shop before and after the show. This is a warm and intimate cabaret style evening; an opportunity to enjoy great music and meet new friends.

We are very pleased to welcome Hugh Ball in his return to the stage after an absence of much too long from performing live.
As a veteran of the Montreal music scene, Hugh Ball has covered a wide range of musical styles in his career. After starting in a cabaret show, Mr. Ball went on to front two original bands; The Martinis (83-85), What It Is! (86-88), and recorded a solo album in 1990 (Hypnotized, Justin Time Records) at the legendary Record Plant Studios in NYC with an all star back up band.

After many years away from music, Mr. Ball found himself back onstage in Old Montreal leading a jazz trio; and over the next 20 years, he assembled a unique and eclectic selection of songs from the mid 20th century.
Now backed by a stellar trio of jazz players, Mr. Ball is thrilled to return to the stage with an evening featuring two sets of some of his personal favourites.
You absolutely won’t hear this anywhere else.
Opening the night, and also marking his return to live music is BBAM! co-owner Ralph Alfonso (vocals/bongos) with an eclectic set of beatnik jazz featuring Steven Lee Rachel on stand-up bass and Camila En Blanco on flute and backing vocals.
This promises to be a very special evening of jazz discovery as Hugh Ball reveals and sings undiscovered and rarely heard gems from the golden era of the jazz and chanson songbook.

Nous sommes ravis d'accueillir Hugh Ball pour son grand retour sur scène après une trop longue absence.
Vétéran de la scène musicale montréalaise, Hugh Ball a exploré un large éventail de styles musicaux au cours de sa carrière. Après avoir débuté dans un spectacle de cabaret, M. Ball a été le chanteur principal de deux groupes : The Martinis (1983-1985) et What It Is! (1986-1988), et a enregistré un album solo en 1990 (Hypnotized, Justin Time Records) aux mythiques studios Record Plant de New York, accompagné d'un groupe de musiciens exceptionnels.
Après de nombreuses années loin de la musique, M. Ball s'est retrouvé sur scène dans le Vieux-Montréal à la tête d'un trio de jazz ; et au cours des 20 prochaines années, il a constitué un répertoire unique et éclectique de chansons du milieu du XXe siècle.
Aujourd'hui accompagné d'un trio de jazzmans talentueux, M. Ball est ravi de revenir sur scène pour une soirée composée de deux sets de ses morceaux préférés.

En première partie, et marquant également son retour à la musique en direct, le copropriétaire du BBAM!, Ralph Alfonso (chant/bongos), présentera un ensemble éclectique de jazz beatnik avec Steven Lee Rachel à la contrebasse et Camila En Blanco à la flûte et aux chœurs.
Cette soirée promet d'être un moment exceptionnel de découverte du jazz, car Hugh Ball dévoilera et interprétera des joyaux méconnus et rarement entendus de l'âge d'or du répertoire jazz et chanson.
