Hudson and the Hoodoo Cats

Austin, Texas born and raised, songwriter, singer, drummer and bandleader Hudson Harkins has led his band, Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats, through over 5,000 performances since it’s inception in 1989. Harkins has fronted the band through a multitude of club dates, concerts, festivals, and casino and corporate events. To date, the band has recorded five studio albums, with a new one in the works.

After living in Austin for 39 years and touring Texas, the Midwest, and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Harkins decided to move to Saint Louis, Missouri in 1994 where his band became quite successful.

A blend of the influences of Texas rockin’ blues, country, rockabilly, and swing, along with St. Louis’ historic soul, jump and urban blues, and many of Harkins’ original songs, has played a key role in the band’s long success.

In recent years, Harkins has tapped into some of the finest musicians in the St. Louis area. The band is ever-evolving in different directions. Currently, Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats’ 7th generation includes two of the finest musicians in Saint Louis - Jon Ferber on guitar and Vince Corkery on bass. Harkins has also hosted guest appearances from an all-star cast of Saint Louis musicians,

Harkins and his Hoo Doo Cats can adapt to most any situation. They have performed for such high profile clients as American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, Fox Sports Network, Ameristar Casinos, The National Baseball League, The British Virgin Islands Spring Regatta, and countless municipal events,The famous Christman Studio’s Joe’s Cafe, clubs, and private events.
