About this Event

What, Why, and Where

What: Huachuma in da House is a sacred gathering designed to align with the powerful energies of the Fall Equinox. This transformative event will guide participants through a profound journey of healing and self-discovery using the ancient wisdom of Huachuma (San Pedro). Over three days, this event at Temple Mother Earth will blend the power of Huachuma with live music, community connection, and the nurturing energy of the Fall Equinox and September Full Moon.

Why: The Fall Equinox is a time of balance, reflection, and transition. As day and night reach equilibrium, we too are called to find balance within ourselves. Huachuma, known as "The Grandfather," offers a wise and protective energy perfectly suited to this time of year. It helps us release what no longer serves us, ground our intentions, and embrace the changes that come with the turning of the seasons. This ceremony also coincides with the September Full Moon, a time of illumination, celebration, and completion, enhancing the transformational energy of the weekend.

Where: The event will be held at Temple Mother Earth, a sanctuary for spiritual healing and community connection in Washington, D.C. Participants can choose to sleep indoors or camp outside in the natural surroundings, deepening their connection to the Earth as they journey through this transformative experience.

The Story Behind the Fall Equinox and Huachuma

As the Earth continues its celestial cycle, we approach the Fall Equinox, a sacred moment when light and dark are in perfect harmony. This time of year marks a powerful transition, inviting us to move from the outward, expansive energy of summer into the introspective, nurturing energy of fall. The Fall Equinox is not just a shift in seasons; it is a profound opportunity for inner work and spiritual reflection.

In this time of balance, we invite you to join us for Huachuma in da House, where we will work with Huachuma, also known as San Pedro. This sacred cactus has been used for millennia by Andean shamans to guide spiritual seekers through deep healing journeys, helping them connect with the divine, themselves, and the natural world.

Huachuma, often referred to as "The Grandfather," brings a gentle yet powerful energy, offering protection, clarity, and a deep sense of connection to the Earth. As we gather during this time of year, when the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is thin, Huachuma supports us in releasing old patterns, grounding our intentions, and embracing the changes that the new season brings.

Can you feel the call to align with the cycles of nature? To connect with the wise and protective energy of the Grandfather and to enter a space of deep healing and reflection? This is your invitation to do so.

The Importance of the Fall Equinox

The Fall Equinox is a time of balance, a sacred moment when day and night are equal, symbolizing the harmony that we seek within ourselves. It is a time to pause, reflect, and honor the cycles of growth and transformation that have unfolded throughout the year. As the days grow shorter and we prepare for the inward journey of winter, the Equinox offers a powerful opportunity to release what no longer serves us, to harvest the lessons we’ve learned, and to set intentions for the months ahead.

During this weekend, we will explore this balance deeply, diving into the inner landscapes of our souls and aligning ourselves with the natural cycles of the Earth. The energy of the Grandfather Huachuma will guide us, helping us to see clearly, to let go of the old, and to embrace the new with open hearts.

This is a time for introspection, for reconnecting with the self, and for planting the seeds of future growth. Do you feel the need to bring balance into your life? To reflect on your journey and prepare for the next steps in your spiritual evolution? This weekend offers a sacred space to do just that, surrounded by a supportive community and the wisdom of ancient plant medicine.

The Full Moon and the Celebration of Self

As we gather during the Fall Equinox, we are also blessed with the light of the September Full Moon, often called the Harvest Moon. This moon is a time of celebration, abundance, and completion. It illuminates our path, guiding us as we step into the next phase of our lives with clarity and purpose.

The Full Moon in September holds a special energy, one that invites us to celebrate ourselves, our journeys, and the communities that support us. It is a time to honor the work we have done, to acknowledge our growth, and to let go of what no longer serves us. This is a time to stand in your power, to recognize your own light, and to step forward with confidence and clarity.

As we gather under the light of the Full Moon, we will celebrate the journey we’ve been on, both individually and collectively. This is a time to connect with the Earth, with the community, and with the deeper aspects of ourselves. Can you see yourself standing under the light of the Full Moon, feeling the support of the Earth beneath you and the wisdom of the Grandfather within you? This is your moment to shine.
