Historic Savannah Foundation is pleased to present Ellie Isaacs, our very own Director of Preservation and Historic Properties, as the speaker for the September installation of our lecture series, “The People, Stories, and Places that Define Savannah.” Ms. Isaacs will present on “Evolving the Revolving Fund” and will discuss the history and importance of HSF’s Revolving Fund and Easement programs, how the programs operate, and the successes of the programs. She will also discuss how HSF is currently working to evolve the current long-term programs through expansion into new sectors, such as acquiring commercial properties with the goal of bringing much-needed services to neighborhoods, utilizing the active real estate market, and through partnership with entities such as the Tybee Island Historical Society to bring these programs to our surrounding communities.Ellie Isaacs is a local historic preservation professional with over ten years of experience, working for the Historic Savannah Foundation since January 2024. Before joining the HSF team, she gained experience working in multiple sectors – for a local architecture firm as a historic preservation specialist, and for a local preservation construction company where she grew the preservation consulting arm of the company. Ellie meets the Professional Qualifications for Architectural History by the Secretary of the Interior. She was the SCAD Alumni mentor for her program, renamed to Preservation Design, for the academic year of 2023. Ellie most recently sat as Chair of the Savannah Historic District Board of Review and was a board member for over five years.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, September 19th at 6:00 pm at HSF headquarters, located at 321 E. York Street, with a social gathering beginning at 5:30 p.m. to meet other HSF members and staff. This event is free for HSF members and $15 for non-members.
