HR Manager is a two-day workshop (with preparation and post-workshop coaching session) for new or aspiring HR Managers. It seeks to help participants develop confidence and knowledge to effectively transition to the additional expectations of HR management from HR advisory work. The programme is an important aid for new HR Managers finding their place and voice in their first line management or sole manager / practitioner role.
The programme contributes to development of the strategic contribution, business knowledge, and personal credibility competencies in the HRINZ competency model.
The workshop will be part theory and part advisory clinic, with the participants engaged in peer action learning. Each workshop will commence with a more traditional format, and transition to peer action learning clinics. Participant numbers will be small and limited to a maximum of 12.
Workshop content will introduce key components of management and leadership, from a behavioural/'doing' and not just 'knowing' perspective; and provide guidance for preparing an "HR Manager Development Plan" to focus role growth and personal delivery over at least a three-month period after the workshop. Included in the fee is a post-workshop telephone or Skype coaching call of up to one-hour with the facilitator, which will be arranged with you for about three weeks after the workshop.
Workshop topics include:
- Making the transition from advisor to manager
- Determining what your organisation needs from human resource management
- Leading the HR Team
- Influencing the organisation's leadership team and Chief Executive
- Preparing an HR Manager Development Plan
