Event Description

Managing people involves much more than assigning tasks and monitoring results. Today’s managers and supervisors frequently handle responsibilities that were once managed only by Human Resources.

These responsibilities may include interviewing candidates, welcoming new employees, providing performance feedback, responding to workplace concerns, documenting misconduct, managing attendance issues, and supporting difficult employment decisions.

The HR Management Essentials: 1-Day Workshop gives managers practical guidance for handling common workplace situations professionally, consistently, and respectfully.

Participants will explore the employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee development, discipline, and separation. The workshop also introduces important topics such as workplace safety, harassment prevention, discrimination awareness, employee wellbeing, and conflict resolution.

Through discussions, practical exercises, workplace scenarios, and action-planning activities, participants will develop the confidence to manage people-related responsibilities while working effectively with their organization’s HR team.

This workshop provides general management education and does not replace professional HR or legal advice. Employment requirements vary by location and organization.
