Let’s be honest: being a parent carer can be exhausting at times. Between fighting for EHCPs, tracking medications, attending endless appointments, and constantly being on high alert, your own needs usually fall right to the bottom of the priority list. We know, because we are right there in the trenches with you.
When you are raising a child or young person with SEND, neurodivergences, or complex medical needs, isolation can easily creep in. It can feel like no one outside of your home truly understands the daily rollercoaster you are on.
We fully understand the emotional impact that supporting a child or young person with additional needs can have on your own wellbeing. We know the isolation that can sometimes creep in, and we know how rare it is to get a moment just for yourself.
Too often, parent carers become isolated. Friends who don't share this lifestyle might drift away, and finding the energy to socialise after a week of navigating the system can feel impossible.
That is exactly why Hull Parent Carer Forum has put together our Summer PARTY TIME event, a much-needed celebration event!
We are creating a safe, welcoming and fun space for you to let your hair down, meet others who "get it," and simply enjoy much needed night out.
This isn't just a night out; it is a vital act of self-care. It’s a safe, completely non-judgmental space to drop the armor, leave the "advocate" hat at the door, and just be you. You don't have to explain your tiredness, apologise for checking your phone, or mask your stress, because every single person in the room gets it.

A True Mental Break: Leave the hyper-vigilance behind for a few hours. Enjoy great food, fantastic music, and a vibrant atmosphere designed specifically for your relaxation.
