Two Ann Arbor songwriters with very different writing styles perform their own songs and interview each other about the songwriting craft, their influences and inspirations, and whatever else comes up. They’ll take some questions from the audience, then invite the audience to stay for more conversation after the concert.
Bill Edwards is both a master of the songwriting craft and a seasoned and compelling performer. His journey has led him through bluegrass to country-rock, to classic country and Americana. Bill won the Country division of Billboard’s® national songwriting contest and his songs have been recorded by other artists and featured on TV and on the silver screen. He’s held staff-writer positions in Nashville and studied the craft at the feet of masters. His latest of nine albums is So Far, which Bill produced, arranged, recorded and mixed in his home studio.
Mike Green’s philosophy about life may be a bit confounding. In his songs, there’s a palpable tension between tenderness and irony, profundity and slapstick, aching beauty and fierce rock & roll. Nearly 40 years as a booking agent for international touring songwriters has given him a front-row seat to the craft of songwriting and performing, and he pulls all of that together in his songs and concerts. He recorded his first album, Listening For The Bell, soon after the pandemic.
