About this Event
This is the first half of a daylong event that you'll be more than welcome to stay on for if you like.
The morning is all about learning the fundamentals of writing a non-fiction book, as well as hearing from a first time author who will share what she has learned in the process of writing her book.
The morning session includes everything from -
- How to structure your book.
- How to get the information out of your head and onto the page in a way that will resonate with your target audience.
- How to use the Hero's Journey framework to incorporate story telling principles to connect with your readers.
- The pros and cons of the various publishing options available to you.
- Strategies to promote your book.
As well as hearing from Jane Turner from www.writewithjane.com who covers the topics above, you'll be hearing from editing specialist Karen Crombie who will be explaining the ins and outs of the editing process, and multi time author Gunnar Habitz who will be sharing the tactics he uses to make sure his books get noticed rather than just sitting on Amazon and going nowhere.
As well as featuring a range of authors talking about their experience of writing their books (a couple of which are actually being launched at the event), the afternoon includes a session on how to garner free publicity off the back of being a published author that is being run by Jules Brooke of www.handleyourownpr.com.au fame.
At the end of the event we'll be heading up to the rooftop bar at the State Library to continue sharing stories, and we'll be on standby to answer any questions you might have about how to write, publish and promote a non-fiction book, and leverage published author status to establish a lucrative speaking career if that's something you have on your bucket list.
If you have any questions you'd like answered before the event, including how you could be a speaker at one of these events in the future, please feel free to call Jane on 0412261101, or email us at [email protected]
