About this Event
Are you an artist, programmer or an individual from a creative/community organisation interested in using our city centre and its design heritage? Or are you a resident or member of the public fascinated by Central Milton Keynes' design and wanting its venues to showcase our diverse cultural heritage?
Then come along and experience the City Centre in a new light as Milton Keynes Islamic Arts Heritage and Culture (MKIAC) Founder and Director Anoaur Kassim MBE leads us on a tour, as part of the Look Again project.
Look Again is a brand new pilot trail exploring the design heritage of Central Milton Keynes (CMK) through artworks, green spaces and modernist buildings and places. A significant 'design piece' mostly created in the 1970s - 1990s by the Milton Keynes Development Corporation, it is an internationally studied example of how to create a major city centre from scratch.
The tour begins at 12 Noon outside Lloyds Court and lasts approximately 1 hour, finishing at Fred Roche Gardens. MKIAC have programmed some major events across the city centre using our modernist design buildings and spaces including City of Codes and Light at various venues across the city and the annual Art in the Park festival in Campbell Park our Registered Heritage Park and Garden. This year Art in the Park takes place in Campbell Park on Saturday,13th July.
Tour Participants should bring a mobile device to access the trail via its QR codes and to give feedback on the online survey.
