The Morrill Memorial Library welcomes local authors Judah Leblang, Randy Ross, and Jason M. Rubin, of the New England Indie Authors Collective for a panel discussion about the process of publishing a book on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00pm in the Simoni Room.
For aspiring authors and those interested in the publishing process, New England Indie Authors Collective (NEIAC) authors from diverse backgrounds discuss their experiences publishing their work. This panel discussion covers a range of topics, including agents, small presses, and self-publishing, with a focus on how things have changed because of the pandemic. The authors include novelists, a memoirist, and a humorist.
About the authors:
Judah Leblang is a Boston-based writer, teacher, and storyteller, and the author of two memoirs: Finding My Place (Lake Effect Press, 2012) and Echoes of Jerry (Red Giant Books, 2019). His essays and commentaries have been broadcast on 200 NPR and ABC-radio network stations around the US. He has performed his one-man shows at community centers, temples, and churches in the Northeast, Midwest, and at Fringe Festivals in the US and Canada. He teaches memoir writing at GrubStreet in Boston, at Literary Cleveland, and at the Alexandra Writers' Centre in Calgary, Canada.
Randy Ross is a Boston-area writer, performer, and former executive editor for PC World magazine. His fiction, humor, and erotica have appeared in The Drum, Black Heart Magazine, Side B Magazine, and Calliope, among others. He is the author of two novels: God Bless Cambodia (The Permanent Press, 2017) and The Squid and the Spaceman (Epsilon Books, October 2024). His one-man shows, The Chronic Singles Handbook and Tales of a Reluctant World Traveler, have been featured at indie theater festivals around the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Find out more about Randy and his work at: randyrossmedia.com.
Jason M. Rubin has been a professional writer since 1985, when he graduated from UMass-Amherst with a degree in Journalism. He has published two books--one, a collection of two historical romance novellas, the other a set of classic fairy tales told from the point of view of the villains--and is currently shopping another book-length manuscript and working on a collection of short stories. Jason also leads journaling workshops and contributes music criticism to The Arts Fuse, a regional online arts magazine.
Copies of the authors' books will be available to purchase at the end of the event.
