About this Event
Uncover your unique graphic style in this comic writing workshop for youth. Under the guidance of local illustrators Tayla Colley and Evie Hilliar, learn to channel your artistic voice and flair into stories – from single panels to full-length graphic novels. In this 3-hour workshop you will experiment with different drawing and storytelling techniques to tell – or draw – a story that's authentically yours.
Ages 14-24.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:
TAYLA COLLEY is an animator, designer & storyteller from Sydney. With skills in 2D animation, illustration, comic writing, and printing, her work has been featured in Australia-wide publications as well as shown internationally. She currently teaches animation and visual narrative at UTS.
EVIE HILLIAR is a writer, illustrator, designer, teacher and animator based on Gadigal land. A lover of storytelling and noticer of the weird and wonderful, her comics have appeared in numerous publications and, with more than 98 thousand followers on Instagram, Evie is one of the most followed comic artists in Australia. Her new animated series, Deadbeat Ends Meet, is currently in production with LateNite Films.
ABOUT THE VENUE:
MARRICKVILLE PAVILION AND LIBRARY is accessible by lift from both the street and ground levels. The venue is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. There is a hearing loop available.
