About this Event
During the exhibition How to make a home, a lineup of extraordinary artists, makers and designers are sharing insights into their materials and methods through the ‘How to make a…’ workshop series.
We are pleased to welcome Jessica Jay to teach us the art of visible darning.
Jessica will guide you through the basics of darning with a series of practical activities to build your skills. This workshop will focus on the technique and applications of darning and exploring the creative potential of repairs.
Please bring along your own garment or textile in need of repair to work on. The second half of the workshop will see you applying your darning skills to a real garment. (examples of appropriate garments: any Knitwear, woollen blanket, scarf, socks, gloves etc).
All tools will be provided, as well as a light lunch and refreshments. This workshop is not suitable for children.
Limited tickets for this workshop are $45. Spaces are limited and will sell out – be quick!

ounded by Jessica Jay, Reparation Studio offers a modern and creative approach to garment alterations and repairs.
