HOW TO CREATE A GLAMOUR PORTRAIT with JON CAMPBELL

This meeting will address the use of light to create a mood or an emotion.

Think images of film stars of the 1930’s that made Hollywood famous.

Jon Campbell will show you how to create images that were unique to the movie industry in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The lighting techniques we will use can be applied to any type of photography, but we will concentrate on Portraiture for this meeting. We will be using primarily constant light sources.

We will be using different lighting setups using one, two and more lights to create images that you don’t often see in today’s point and shoot world. We will use different light placements to bring drama into our images.

We’ll discuss set up, lighting, background selection, facial analysis, posing and how to work with a model. We will be working with a live model, so, besides having fun, you will be able to leave this class with high quality images that will enhance your portfolio. This meeting will be an extension of our last Glamour class with more emphasis on posing and setting up a shot. You might want to look up George Hurrell or Clarence Sinclair Bull for inspiration.

Please bring you SLR camera with a full battery charge. This is not a beginner class. You should be familiar with your camera and its functions and operation before you come.
