Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) comprehensively assesses the environmental impacts of products and services, covering the entire value chain in a streamlined manner. In this workshop, you'll learn the principles and fundamental concepts of LCA and how it can be used. You'll gain a basic understanding of LCA and be introduced to the tools and data available to ETH students, empowering you to conduct your own LCA. About the speaker
Stephan Pfister is an Adjunct Professor at ETH Zurich, working in the Ecological Systems Design group at the Institute of Environmental Engineering. He earned his PhD from ETH Zurich, focusing on the impact assessment of water consumption and land use in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). His current research delves into the environmental impacts of agriculture, power production, and mineral mining, with a strong emphasis on global supply chains. He co-founded an ETH Spin-Off in 2010 and is board member of ecoinvent, which is the world market leader for LCA databases.
