Luana Matei (https://www.instagram.com/luanacomedy/) Luana Matei is a Romanian comic who has knocked around the globe: Germany, 12 years in Tokyo, and now calls Amsterdam home. She brings all that baggage onto the stage, dumps it out, and makes you laugh at the mess.

Her act feels real, honest, maybe a little dark, and tells it exactly how it is. It's just her, a mic, and stories that jump from smart jokes to true stuff to funny, heartfelt poems, touching on the parts of life we usually keep quiet about. She performs in English, Japanese, and Romanian, because some things just sound funnier in another language. Luana doesn't hold back. She tackles the messy parts of life we all deal with, exploring themes that might be considered taboo, like those your mother told you never to discuss in public. She's even performed at the legendary Comedy Store, proving no topic is off limits when she’s got the mic.

Luana Matei (RO), originally from Romania, lived in Tokyo for 12 years before getting trapped in Amsterdam during the lockdown.

In 2022/23 she began extensively touring Europe & Asia, having performed in 51 cities across 29 countries, with over 250 packed shows (150+ sold out) entertaining more than 20,000 people. Her comedy is dark, insightful, and deftly encapsulating her experiences living and travelling around the world! She takes vulnerability to another level, pushing the boundaries of "How soon is too soon?"
