The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung's Reader Choice awards have become one of the area's most prestigious forms of community recognition. Learn from the Herald-Zeitung's Neice Bell & Robin Torres on what it takes to be one of the 'Best of New Braunfels', how the awards have evolved, and the best practices to compete. We hope to engage in topics that pique your interest to get involved and motivate your success. At the end of our presentation, we will hear from past winners to learn from their experiences and how they strive for excellence in our growing business community.

Tickets to the seminar are discounted for Chamber Members at $30 and available to the General Public at $35.

Meet Our Speakers:

Neice Bell
Neice was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from John Marshall High School and went to college at Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX on a volleyball scholarship.

She started her newspaper career at the Kerrville Daily Times while attending college with her first job as a typesetter and eventually working her way up to Advertising Director.

Neice has worked in the newspaper industry her entire adult life. She first came to work at the Herald-Zeitung as the Marketing Director from 2004-2006. She came back to the Herald-Zeitung as publisher from 2012 to 2015 and then again in 2018 till now.

Neice has been married to her husband Jeff since 2003 and together they have four grown children and two grandchildren.

She is a sixth-generation Texan and in her spare time, Neice likes to garden and do just about any outdoor activities with her family and friends.

Along with being on the Board of Directors for the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Neice is also on the board of the New Braunfels Food Bank, United Way, and a member of the New Braunfels Rotary Club and the New Braunfels Manufacturers Association.

Robin Torres,
Robin Torres started working for the Herald-Zeitung in the advertising department in 2014. She was born in Germany and lived in several U.S. states while growing up as an Army “brat.” She earned her bachelor's degree from THE University of Texas (Austin), married Carlos Torres (42 years ago), and together they have two sons, Jason and Martin. She has worked at several newspapers around Texas, always in advertising sales: including the Kingsville Record, San Antonio Light, Austin American-Statesman and Austin-area community newspapers, and the Rio Grand Valley Newspaper Network before moving to New Braunfels. Since Carlos works for Rudy’s Bar-B-Q, they were able to relocate here easily. She enjoys family time, walking trails, drawing, and gardening.
