How To Be a Hidden Saint: The legend of the Lamed-Vav and the challenge of being a blessing can inspire us to work subtly for the welfare of persons and the planet. Explore how to become Lamed-Vavniks in this retreat.
Presented by Rabbi Rami Shapiro
Buried in the 2711 double sided folios of the Babylonian Talmud's sixty–three tractates is a single sentence by Rabbi Abaye, an otherwise unknown talmudic sage, revealing a centuries old secret: at any given moment there must be no less than thirty-six people awake to Shekhinah (the Feminine Divine) and engaging in being a blessing to all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:3) if human civilization is to avoid collapsing under the weight of its own ignorance, arrogance, violence and fear. Called Lamed-Vavniks (36ers) and Tzadikkim Nistarim (hidden saints), these individuals work subtly to see to the welfare of person and planet. In this workshop we will explore what it is to be a Lamed-Vavnik and how to become one.
Cost $75 with Lunch Included
