About this Event

On 31 January 2023, three years will have passed since the UK left the EU. This is an apt moment to reflect on what can be learnt by looking back at the negotiation process and considering its implications for the enduring relationship between the EU and the UK, not least in respect of this island. Stefaan De Rynck was Senior Advisor to the EU's Chief Brexit Negotiator Michel Barnier from October 2016 until March 2021 and had a front row seat throughout the negotiations. In his new book, Inside the Deal: How The EU Got Brexit Done, he provides a frank and uncompromising account of how the EU reached a deal with the UK. This event provides an opportunity to discover more about his insights on the Brexit negotiations, in conversation with a panel of experts, and reflect on the implications for the EU-UK relationship going forward.
