Voices of the Valley, under the direction or Gregg Mauroni, Is excited to celebrate its 45th season with "How Sweet the Sound - Songs of America."
Experience the joy of American choral music with us as we raise our voices in salute to the enduring beauty and tenacity of our country, as expressed by some of its best composers and poets.
Join in the Spring season of renewal as we delight in beloved hymns including “Amazing Grace” and “How Can I Keep from Singing”. Dazzling innovative settings of spirituals, including Carol Barnett's exuberant “By and By” and Moses Hogan's thunderous “My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord” will have you on the edge of your seat. Breathtaking contemporary composers, including Dan Forrest and Morten Lauridsen, plus Adolphus Hailstork's “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” and “The Lord is My Shepherd” will fill the soul.
In light of her recent passing, Voices Of The Valley offers tribute to Alice Parker, American composer, arranger, conductor, teacher, and long time collaborator of Robert Shaw. Her legacy is etched in the granite of choral history with such masterful works as “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal”, “My God is a Rock”, and “What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor”. Join us on this journey celebrating America through song. We can't wait to share this legacy with you.
