Meet the panelists
Gabriella Evans is a clinical counsellor, virtual clinic owner, and mother of two based in Vancouver, BC. She founded The Trauma Therapy Group with the mission of helping women break intergenerational cycles of trauma. As a trauma survivor herself, Gabriella understands firsthand how trauma disrupts the nervous system and severs our sense of belonging with self and others. Her and her team of trauma-focused clinicians offer EMDR Therapy, designed to help overwhelmed women clear up nervous system blocks and rediscover a sense of safety and ease. Gabriella holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is certified by both the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Alongside her clinical training, she is also a certified yoga teacher and meditation guide, which allows her to bring a spiritual and somatic lens to her work and life.
Shelby is the founder and designer of Slate Wearables, a slow fashion brand designed and made in Vancouver. After studying fashion and witnessing the industry's harmful effects on both people and the planet, she was inspired to build a brand that aligned with her values. Slate Wearables reflects everything she would like a clothing brand to be: locally made, carefully crafted, and designed to last. Her effortless, neutral designs are created to mix and match easily, empowering conscious consumers to curate a timeless wardrobe. Shelby is committed to offering thoughtful, well-made pieces that combine style, quality, and responsibility in every collection.
Bayoush Mengesha wanted to own her beauty and confidence, while shifting the perspective that responsibly made jewelry can also be accessible and affordable. She’s passionate about empowering women, lifting women up, and giving women a voice and the confidence they need to not only succeed, but thrive as they build upon their skills and pursue their inner passions. Through the responsible operations of Devi Arts Collective, her dedication to mentorship, and the heartwork that goes into each piece, she wants her jewelry to become a statement that allows the human wearing it to confidently express who they really are without having to say a word.
Maxine Munson's makeup journey began fifteen years ago. She is originally from Victoria BC and her cosmopolitan lifestyle took her to Melbourne where her interest in fashion and makeup was ignited. After gaining a diploma in specialized makeup, she worked with Nars Cosmetics for seven years, advancing from a retail counter to training other artists. Inspired by her experiences at New York and London Fashion Week, she transitioned to a freelance makeup career. Trusting the divine timing of her transition she was approached to join the legendary roster of artists with Vancouver creative agency, Nobasura. Today she is a leader in her industry, www.makeupwithmaxine.com, and is a regular on set with some of Canada’s top fashion brands. Experience aside Maxine is well known for her calming, positive energy and colorful presence on set.
