Professor Martini, CEO of Precision Health Technology Accelerator, will be talking about the importance of innovation and collaboration.
About this Event

Professor Martini will be revealing to the Lunar Society details of the development of the Birmingham Health Innovation Campus (BHIC) which will be the largest life Sciences Cluster in the region, located a short walk from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the University of Birmingham and one of the largest medical faculties in the UK.

Professor Martini will talk about the importance of innovation and collaboration. If you are an entrepreneur or clinician or academic with a passion to start up a business or a new medically focussed social enterprise, then this is the presentation for you!

The event will commence with a welcome reception at 1800 to enable networking. The presentation will commence at 1830 and will be followed by a Q&A Session. The event is due to finish at 2000.

Professor Gino Martini Biography

Professor Martini is the CEO of Precision Health Technology Accelerator.

Prior to his role at the PHTA Professor Luigi "Gino" Martini was the Chief Scientific Officer for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

He is a registered practising Industrial Pharmacist and Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society who divides his time between the pharmaceutical industry and Academia as a visiting professor in pharmaceutical Innovation for a number of HEI’s in the UK.

Prior to that he spent over 17 years at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Roche Product Ltd. and Shire Pharmaceuticals working in a variety of commercial, innovative technology-based and medical affairs roles, directing groups in the US, Europe and Emerging Markets.

Professor Martini has an MBA specialising in SME success and business failure awarded with distinction from the University of Liverpool.

He is a past chair of the Industrial Pharmacists Group of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and past president of the European Industrial Pharmacists Group.



Location and Parking

The event will be taking place in the Assembly Room at The Exchange in Birmingham City Centre.

There is no on-site parking at the venue, however, you'll find plenty of pay-and-display parking nearby. The nearest multi-storey car parks are Paradise Circus, Town Hall, and Navigation Street, just a 5-minute walk away (0.3 miles). Street parking is also available at Bridge Street, just 5 minutes away.

The Lunar Society relies entirely on donations, membership fees, sponsorship and ticketing fees to enable it to operate.
