What does the Marathon des Sables teach us about endurance, hope and transforming outcomes in age-related Macular Degeneration?
In the Sahara Desert, every step forward is optional - and quitting is always rational. With research into age-related Macular Degeneration the challenge is different but can be just as tough; patients don't get to choose whether the race starts. Both demand the same thing - relentless endurance when the finish line is nowhere in sight.
Join Richard Gale, an internationally renowned expert in medical diseases of the retina, as he focuses on the critical question: how much vision can be saved in the future?
Richard will be taking part in the Marathon des Sables in 2027, raising money for the Yorkshire Macular Degeneration Fund.
