How It All Connects
About this Event
I will introduce some ideas about how people live in relationship to natural elements and other species, and how this all relates to our Norfolk landscape in a time of vulnerability to climate impacts.
On the walls will be artworks by me (Bridget McKenzie), my father (Peter Baldwin) and my daughter (Meg McKenzie), in our exhibition called 'Related'. We all make work about relatedness between people and place, about generation or regeneration.
I'll share some of my techniques with inks and collage, and offer some prompts for you to explore 'how it all connects' by making visual artworks.
If you have some level of confidence in improvised art-making, you may enjoy it more.
A key idea will be 'Sumbiography' - that our identities are not just formed from our genetic human relationships but from the myriad of relationships in our environment - including our ancestors and the land, elements and species that we are enmeshed with.
You will be very welcome to bring your own art materials and papers, and a selection of pencils, inks and collage materials will be provided.
This is free of charge.
The Related exhibition will not be open to the public until 9th - 13th September.
