Synopsis
Defending human literacy: confronting AI "slop" and reclaiming our language.
Join Dr. Kitty Hung-Ejuje for a timely talk on "AI Slop" - how proliferating AI-generated content is eroding human literacy, vocabulary, and creative thinking. She diagnoses the problem: digital feeds recycling synthetic outputs that dilute original human expression.
The presentation explores the causes, such as over-reliance on AI, feedback loops of machinegenerated data, and the subtle ways prompt-driven habits train us to think like machines. Expectclear examples of linguistic flattening and cognitive atrophy.
Attendees will leave with practical steps to protect and restore human creativity: sharpen critical thinking, validate AI outputs, and intentionally produce rich, original "spark" data that keeps our languages and ideas alive.
