About this Event
Decolonising the curriculum is the process of reviewing and reframing educational content to challenge the historical domination of Western, Eurocentric, and elite perspectives. It seeks to dismantle biases, include marginalised voices, and validate alternative ways of knowing.
Join us for Scotdec’s annual teacher networking event! This year, we're exploring what decolonising teaching and learning looks like for different people in different spaces in Scottish education.
Led by our Director Charlotte Dwyer, this session will feature a panel made up of inspiring folk working in classrooms and across the education sector. Together, we’ll unpack what decolonial practice is and find out how it can be woven in to different places in education - from classrooms, to local authorities, to universities.
Whether you’re just starting out or already doing this work, you’ll leave with ideas you can take forward and connections with others who are navigating similar questions.
