About this Event
Houston's skilled trades deserve a faster path to good work — and a place to get set up right.
Every Wednesday, go2work hosts a free, drop-in workshop at The Cannon – West Houston. Come sit down with us one-on-one and walk out ready to land your next role in construction and the trades. No cost, no pressure — just real help from people who know the trades.
Here's what we'll do together:
- Get you signed up on go2work, the platform connecting verified tradespeople with construction employers
- Complete your Trade Passport — your verified profile of certs, licenses, and work history that employers trust
- Prep you for interviews built specifically for construction and skilled trades — from safety talk to talking up your projects
Who it's for: Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, welders, carpenters, laborers, and anyone looking to get into or move up in the trades — whether you're just starting out or hunting for your next crew.
What to bring:
- Your phone
- Any certifications or licenses you have (OSHA, NCCER, EPA 608, CDL, TWIC, trade license) — bring what you've got, we'll help with the rest
- A couple of references if you have them

This is a come-when-you-can, drop-in workshop — you don't need to stay the whole time. Show up any time between 8 AM and noon and we'll get you started. Free parking on site; head to Suite 1000B and look for the go2work table. Bring your phone charged and any certs or licenses handy so we can build out your profile on the spot. Most folks are in and out in 30–45 minutes.
