HOUSTON IN THE BLIND W/ THAYER SARRANO

Houston in the Blind first emerged a decade ago in Atlanta with Limbs, a nine-track debut that seemed to guarantee the band had a future as a fledgling indie-rock favorite. The album is replete with resounding acoustic instrumentals and a sonorous, otherworldly aura that adds another layer of dreamy poignancy to Garrett’s windingly lovelorn lyricism. Tracks like the transcendentally glassy swirlings of “On Your Side”and hauntingly exigent “All My Love” underscore the band’s talent for conjuring enchanting and emotionally mercurial soundscapes.

Since 2009, Thayer has released five LPs, a live Ep with a string chamber ensemble, and several singles. She has toured constantly, headlining tours in the US and Europe, as well as supporting artists like Drive-By Truckers, Television, Robyn Hitchcock, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, and more. Her songs have been featured on several network television shows, in an installation in the Netherlands' Groninger Museum, and she has won music video awards. She has also released books of original artworks and lyrics. In addition to her own band, she is a well known collaborator with numerous acts as a session musician, composer for short films, documentaries, and installations.
