Program Description:
In the last few years, Indianapolis has gained a reputation for having some of the worst eviction rates of any city in the country. Struggles with homelessness, housing discrimination, and unlivable conditions have escalated and are now the forefront of local news. How did we get to this point?
The JCC Indianapolis and Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI) present Housing Injustice Summit, an evening program of education and advocacy for the Indianapolis community. We invite you to learn about the history of redlining in Indianapolis through the FHCCI’s traveling exhibition Unwelcomed and through a presentation from the FHCCI, followed by a panel (Panelists to be announced.) discussion that includes people working at the front of the fight housing injustice in Indianapolis today.
Housing justice affects us all, and we invite both renters and homeowners to come and learn about their rights and how they can be part of positive change in Indianapolis, today and beyond.
This program is free and open to all, and light food will be provided.
