Part of independent living involves finding housing that meets our individual needs. This session will explore housing options and resources. Participants will learn:
➡️ Strategies for finding and attaining housing
➡️ Tips for making their home environment fit their needs
➡️ Strategies for communicating with landlords and roommates
➡️ Tips for preparing for an emergency
All workshops are free; there is no cost to attend. Workshops are intended for individuals who self-identify as having a disability, mental health condition, and/or chronic health condition (rather than family members or service providers). Attendees must live in one of the 8 eastern Iowa counties we serve (Johnson, Linn, Washington, Benton, Cedar, Jones, Henry, or Iowa county).
This is a hybrid workshop. That means participants are welcome to attend in-person OR online. Advanced registration is required for all participants regardless of attendance format.
