Ploy (South London’s Sam Smith) broke through in 2016 with his debut on Hessle Audio, followed by standout releases on Timedance that helped shape a new wave of UK club sound. His music twists UK bass roots into wild, percussive forms — earning remixes from Beatrice Dillon, Peder Mannerfelt, and more.
With his debut LP Unlit Signals on L.I.E.S. and the launch of his own label and party series Deaf Test, Ploy has become a restless force in underground dance music. He’s remixed the likes of Len Faki, Bjarki, and Mount Kimbie, while pushing his sound toward contemporary house, drawing from progressive, tech, and garage traditions.
A Rinse FM resident and regular at world-renowned clubs from Amsterdam’s De School to Tokyo’s Contact, Ploy enters 2025 with a heavy release schedule — including a new LP for Dekmantel, an EP on Faith Beat, and a spot on Timedance’s 10-year compilation.
