In 2012, Stan Kessler and Beau Bledsoe formed Passport, a dynamic musical collaboration. With a shared passion for diverse musical traditions, they blend their talents to create a rich tapestry of jazz, classical, and world music. Their mesmerizing compositions celebrate cultural diversity and the universal language of music, promising an unforgettable journey through sound.
Stan Kessler is a Trumpet/Flugelhorn player, band leader, clinician, and educator in the Kansas City area. He also does extensive writing and arranging for small groups. Stan plays drums and hand percussion. He has maintained adjunct positions at UMKC and Missouri Western State University in jazz trumpet, theory and improvisation, and music business classes. For 7 years, Stan has been a faculty member of Kansas City Youth Jazz, now Kansas City Jazz Academy. He has been teaching jazz improvisation and theory privately for 29 years.
Beau Bledsoe performs and records classical music, jazz and folkloric music from around the world as he seeks to integrate different musical cultures with diverse audiences. Through his many varied projects and ensembles, Beau has toured extensively throughout Europe, Russia, South America and North America in addition to producing fifteen recordings under his recording label Tzigane. Beau is currently artistic director and founder of Ensemble Iberica which explores the music of Spain, Portugal and other areas of the world connected to the Iberian diaspora.
