In winter, this place turns into a dreamy wonderland powdered in white, with many regions covered in snow during the colder months. Add to that cities and towns dressed to impress for the festive season, the atmosphere here promises to be nothing short of magical, cosy and joyful – making it a perfect NYE weekend break.
Let's go!
Day 1 // 31.12 :: Yerevan + New Year’s Eve celebration
Meeting at 5am at T2 for direct flight to Yerevan at 07:00 -10:25 AM. Immigration clearance, check in to hotel.
Welcome to Armenia! Yerevan, a city older than Rome itself was founded back in 782 BC. This metropoly is a true treasure: a fascinating blend of ancient history, vibrant modern life, and unique charm shaped by its Soviet past.
As we stroll through the cozy streets, you’ll feel the festive atmosphere of the season. We will visit the lively Christmas markets, filled with lights, music, and the irresistible aroma of local treats. And of course, you’ll admire one of the most beautiful Christmas trees in the entire region — a true highlight of the city’s holiday magic!
In the evening, get ready for a sparkling New Year’s Eve celebration in a traditional Armenian restaurant****. Expect warm hospitality, delicious local cuisine, cheerful music, and plenty of dancing — the perfect start to an unforgettable holiday!
DAY 2 // 01.01 :: Tsaghkadzor ski resort – Winter Wonderland
After a late wake-up call (we all deserve a little rest after the New Year’s Eve celebration), the adventure continues in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia’s most famous ski resort.
Surrounded by snow-covered mountains and crisp winter air, Tsaghkadzor is the perfect place to welcome the new year. Here, you’ll have free time (up to 4 hours) to enjoy the resort at your own pace — whether it’s skiing, snowboarding, or simply soaking up the breathtaking alpine views.
For those who prefer a relaxed day, cozy cafés and warm mulled wine await, offering the ideal setting to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
It’s a day of freedom, fun, and fresh mountain air — the best way to start 2026 on a high note!
Day 3 // 02.01 :: Symphony of Stones – Trekking in Khosrov Forest Reserve – Geghard Monastery
Our trip continues to the Khosrov Forest Reserve, one of the oldest protected areas in the world, where history stretches back more than 1,700 years. Right at the entrance, nature welcomes us with a striking sight: basalt stones hanging as if defying gravity.
Today’s hike is a journey through centuries. We start at the 1st-century pagan temple of Garni — the only surviving Greco-Roman colonnaded temple in the region. As we walk through dramatic volcanic landscapes, we arrive at the breathtaking Symphony of Stones, a natural basalt wonder resembling a gigantic organ carved by nature itself. In the end we will reach the medieval Havuts Tar Monastery, a jewel of Armenia’s Christian renaissance.
After the hike, a well-deserved lunch at a local restaurant awaits us, where you’ll savor the rich flavors of traditional Armenian cuisine.
To complete the day, we visit the Geghard Monastery, an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site, partly carved directly into the rock, radiating spiritual power and timeless beauty.
Day 4 // 03.01 :: Areni cave – Trekking to Noravank Monastery – Offroad trip – Jermuk Hot Springs
Today we set out for the charming village of Areni, the cradle of winemaking, where in 2007 archaeologists discovered the world’s oldest wine press, dating back more than 6,000 years.
Our adventure begins with a visit to the famous Birds’ Cave, before we embark on a moderate trekking (3–10 km depending on snow). The trail leads us through the ruins of ancient settlements and along striking cliffs of giant red rocks — remnants of a prehistoric ocean floor — until we arrive at the spectacular Noravank Monastery, a masterpiece of Armenian medieval architecture dramatically set against the canyon walls.
After the trekking, we’ll enjoy a homemade lunch at a local winemaker’s estate, paired with tastings of Areni’s celebrated wines. With a glass in hand, we continue the adventure to Jermuk resort for having there an exciting off-road journey into the mountains, where hidden natural hot springs invite us for a rejuvenating bath in warm mineral waters.
To crown the day, we visit the majestic Jermuk waterfall, its icy cascades creating a breathtaking winter spectacle. Back to Yerevan.
