Hot Girl Portrait Pt. 2 is a 1-day portrait event designed to create accessible, affirming, and expressive portraits in an intimate on-site setting in front of Loohoo’s infamous pink wall! This project invites you to arrive exactly how you are—whether dressed up, casual, soft, bold, tired, joyful, uncertain, or simply curious about being seen through a thoughtful lens that Yu-Sheng is best known for in her work.

The session will take place on May 31, 2026, from 11:30AM–4:30 PM at Loohoo: Cute Gift Shop on 1380 Queen Street West, operating by appointment only.

10 slots are released for this event for individuals. Each participant will receive a dedicated 30-minute portrait session in a relaxed environment that prioritizes comfort, collaboration, and authenticity. The intention is to create portraits that feel personal and empowering, while remaining financially accessible to students, artists, and community members.

Session fees will operate on a sliding range of $20–45 CAD per person, allowing participants to contribute according to their means. Each session includes 3–7 edited digital photographs, delivered within 1–2 weeks following the event. Participants may also purchase an unframed 8x10 archival portrait for $30 CAD each, which will be available to pick up at Loohoo: Cute Gift Shop.

This event will be confirmed once 50% of available appointment slots are filled by May 27 at 6pm, ensuring the project remains financially and logistically sustainable.

*By participating in the session, individuals consent to allowing Yu‑Sheng to use selected portraits for portfolio presentation, exhibitions, publications, and future promotional materials related to her artistic practice.

About the Exhibition — Imported Goods

Imported Goods is an ongoing project consisting of black-and-white photographs of embellished tropical fruits that bear cultural and economic significance for Taiwanese people. As food is a crucial part of the nation's cultural identity, this series explores how the localization of these products — which mostly originated on other continents — became symbols that represent us, mirroring the migration journeys of many in the Western diaspora, marked by their resilience and adaptability.

All works are available for purchase, including prints, and photography postcards by Yu-Sheng Chiu.

As part of the Contact Photography Festival's 30th Anniversary Open Call.

On view May 7 to 31 at Loohoo. Curated by Lindsay Duong.
