Hormonal influences on women's lives - FREE menopause talk
About this Event
Hormonal influences on women’s lives is an in-person talk for anyone interested in menopause and hormonal changes in women’s lives with Dr Cathy Archibald.
I trained in West London and graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1996. I worked in London for a number of years before moving to Gloucestershire 25 years ago. I have been a doctor for over 30 years now and enjoy the variety that this job brings. No two people are ever the same and that’s what makes life and people interesting!
I have a special interest in menopause & medical education. I have always had an interest in women’s health, which increased in recent years seeing friends, colleagues ( & myself!) developing perimenopause and menopausal symptoms and observing the broad spectrum of symptoms it can bring. This sparked my interest in menopause specifically. I now work only in specialist menopause care, having just stopped general practice this month after 26 years. I have a broad depth of knowledge and experience in dealing with standard & complex menopausal symptoms. I take a holistic approach looking at the whole person and their lifestyle, but also feel that it is key to educate women and to empower them to make informed choicesthat feel's right for them. Individualised care is key, as no two women have the same experiences or history.
When I am not working I enjoy gardening and love to bake. We have a couple of lovely dogs and you can often find me out walking them - which may, or may not involve a stop off for a coffee/cake or a glass of something…!
I have chickens at home, which fuels my baking passion for baking too. I am a bit of a foodie and cooking is a great pleasure for me, which is just as well as my family enjoy eating! When not working I love to catch up with friends over a glass of wine.
