About this Event

The workshop will be beneficial for participants of the Triple Helix Conference representing Widening Countries defined by the Horizon Europe regulation (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Morocco, Tunisia, Ukraine, Faroe Islands and the Outermost Regions)

The workshop will be focused on the Excellence Hubs call of the EU-funded Horizon Europe Programme which is aimed at fostering a real place-based innovation culture in Widening countries based on a strategic agenda aligned with regional or national smart specialisation strategies.

Workshop benefits:

  • Considering the opportunity to join a consortium applying for a call on TOPIC ID: HORIZON-WIDERA- 2023-ACCESS-07-01: Excellence Hubs.
  • Contributing to an open discussion on how innovation ecosystems in Widening countries and beyond can team up to create better linkages between academia, business, government and society.
  • Brainstorming on potential R&I project consolidating academia business linkages and providing evidence for strategy building and investment.

Rafael Popper (PhD), Director of Futures Diamond and Adjunct Professor at the Finland Futures Research Centre of the University of Turku.

Workshop Facilitators:

Guillermo Velasco (PhD), Director EBRAINS Spain, Scientific Mg Innovation Human Brain Project - Strategic Foresight and Future Scenarios.

Anna Zmiievska, Project manager at Technology Partners Foundation, expert in funding facilitation for R&I and development projects.

IMPORTANT! The event is free of charge, the registration to the Triple Helix Conference is a pre-requisite to participate in the workshop.
