Horizon Ensemble x Trident Poetry Collective: Unveiling

About this Event

As summer blazes on, the Horizon Ensemble is releasing Unveiling, our first album, and we're inviting you to celebrate, watch, and listen. We're teaming up with the Trident Poetry Collective to create a musical-poetic combo event! Join us this Friday, August 7 at 7:30 PM at the Beacon Hill Friends House, 6 & 8 Chestnut St.

Unveiling includes three new recordings of chamber music by emerging American composers, performed by Horizon musicians. During the event, we'll watch the video of each piece, and, continuing the spirit of new artistic creation, we'll invite you to write poetry inspired by the music. We'll hear:

1. Daniel Sabzghabaei's outside(inside)out, a geometric exploration of shimmering soundscapes and playful dances
2. Arjan Singh Dogra's Khulasa, a transient, kaleidoscopic vision of sounds unveiled and unfurling
3. Theo Chandler's Trailing Wings, in which a soaring saxophone and its flock of winds embark on a free-winged adventure

After all three pieces, we'll share our newfound words, open-mic style. Come find inspirations for new works, cool musical experiences, and fun times with friends old & new.

You can purchase the album online on Bandcamp, or physical CDs will be available for purchase at the event. By owning our first-ever album, you'll be a part of the Horizon Ensemble's history.

This event is free, but any donations or proceeds go towards Horizon Ensemble's mission of supporting young artists and building community between artists and audiences.
