About this Event

Join us LIVE and in person this December on the front lawn of the Neill Cochran House Museum for concert of carols, cocoa, and cold ones.

Beerthoven is proud to partner once again with the Tinsel Singers! Tinsel is not your average group of Christmas carolers. Within Tinsel's roster of professional singers are Grammy®-winners and classically-trained vocalists, entertaining audiences with style and distinction. From classical to contemporary, Tinsel arrangements of holiday favorites are bright and innovative, while respecting tradition and cherished memories.

In addition to the live music, we will be serving hot cocoa as well as warm pastries and cold beer generously provided by Easy Tiger and Lazarus Brewing--at no additional cost! All attendees will also be allowed one free visit to the Neill-Cochran House Museum's exhibits (voucher to be used at a different time than that of the performance, as the performance takes place after museum hours).

Beerthoven events are family-friendly; kids are welcome! Student tickets are available for $10 at the door. Email [email protected] in advance for tickets for children.

Parking Info:

Limited parking will be available for free on-site in Neill-Cochran House's own lot, accessible via 23rd street in between Leon and San Gabriel. Additional parking can be found at the Quarters Parking Garage in West Campus: 700-898 W 22 1/2 St, Austin, TX 78705

Safety Protocols:

These performances and intermissions will all take place outdoors. For entrance inside the museum (including use of restroom), attendees must follow Neill-Cochran House Museum policy, which may include a mask requirement (subject to change by the Museum). If Covid-19 cases remain in Stage 3 or lower, Beerthoven will not require masking or social distancing during the performance. In the event of a rise to Stage 4, seating for the event will be distanced and social distancing and masking encouraged during intermissions. In the event Stage 5 is reached, masking and social distancing may be required for all attendees.

About Beerthoven:

The critically-acclaimed Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song, chamber music, and beer; a quirky mixture of Bach and Doppelbock in unique and intimate settings. Beerthoven finds its inspiration in the musical and festive events of the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private "salon" concerts of Beethoven's time. Beerthoven events feature live classical music, free beer, and other refreshments and snacks in an all-inclusive manner. There is no backstage here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers.

Programming is intentionally diverse in tone, instrumentation, and featured performers. Beerthoven supports local artists by offering fair compensation and unique performance venues. Audience members will find our prices at the very low end of typical classical concerts--especially for students and especially given the high quality of the exbeerience.
