Join us for Brain Injury Awareness Week to hear from our exciting key speaker Myra Fordham on the topic of Hope, Strength and Empowerment.
Myra Fordham
Myra Fordham is a proud Malgnin Gurindji and Wokka Wokka woman, an award-winning leadership expert, best-selling author, mentor and coach. She is also a brain injury survivor. Acquiring her brain injury after an assault from her ex-boyfriend, Myra spent 11 days in a coma before undergoing brain surgery and intensive rehabilitation to learn to walk and speak again, and to overcome depression, anxiety and PTSD.
Her experiences shaped her determination to find a way to help others move forwards after trauma, leading her to start her consultant business, Myra Fordham Coaching, which focuses on helping people to master their mindsets, gain clarity, confidence and find purpose. In 2023, Myra was named Darwin NAIDOC Person of the Year, and has been nominated for countless other awards for her work in this space.
Myra joins us for Brain Injury Awareness Week 2024 where she will share the wisdom of her experiences, and guide attendees on a journey of empowerment to believe in hope, and to find inner strength to embrace life after brain injury.
Rowena Holmes
Rowena is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a range of mental health, disability and rehabilitation settings across Australia and the UK. She has previously specialised in chronic pain, functional neurological disorders, and has a keen interest in the role of trauma and mental health in acquired brain injury and neurorehabilitation.
