Average Joey is a traveling folk musician, street savvy songwriter, radical poet and zinester. His songs bounce around stylistically between cheeky country tunes, lyrical punky banjo songs, and explicitly anti-capitalist folky storytelling. Joey’s poetry ranges from the vulnerable personal narrative to politically poignant critiques of unjust systems of power. His live show mixes song, poetry, acapella group singing, and storytelling – all sprinkled with doomsday humor as well as urgent invitations to build a better world together.
