Hope for the Holidays - Caregiver Training
About this Event
Hope for the Holidays
Supporting your child through the holiday season
The holidays can bring joy, connection, and meaningful traditions—but they can also stir up grief, overwhelm, and complicated feelings. For children impacted by trauma, loss, or family separation, this season may feel very different from what the celebrations around them suggest.
Join Fostering Hope’s Jordan Hope Vera, TBRI® Practitioner and adoptive parent, for a practical, compassionate conversation about supporting your child while making room for your own needs.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Grief, gratefulness, and grace: Making space for feelings that can exist together.
- Sensory needs and changing routines: Preparing for gatherings, transitions, and unfamiliar expectations.
- Honoring your child’s story: Welcoming conversations about first families, memories, and loss without trying to fix the pain.
- Connection and co-regulation: Recognizing what we bring into stressful moments and helping our children navigate big feelings.
- Flexible expectations and meaningful traditions: Using TBRI® principles to plan ahead, adjust, and prioritize connection.
Designed for foster, adoptive, and kinship parents and caregivers, this training offers encouragement and practical tools for approaching the holidays with greater understanding.
Come as you are—with your questions, hopes, and holiday concerns. There is room for both joy and grief, and there is always hope.
