Meet at: Hoover Dam parking lot off Sunbury RoadWith hunting season in full swing, we’ll spend the morning at our local “refuge” looking for wintering waterfowl, gulls and raptors. As the only large non-hunted lake in central Ohio, Hoover often accumulates many unusual waterbirds and raptors. We’ll start at the dam, where the spillway always seems to attract unusual wintering waterfowl, and then work our way up the reservoir as far as open water allows (which may not be far if the weather is frigid). Dress for cold, possibly wet weather; we’ll try to work in some “warm-up areas” if we need them. The trip should be over by 1:00 pm.
