Hooping is an amazing way to get your body moving and boost your mental health at the same time. If you’ve been searching for a low-cost way to feel good in your body, connect with others, and try something new—you’re in the right place!
Hi, I’m Ashley and I’ve been hooping since 2009. Over the years, this simple plastic circle has brought me so much joy, growth, and connection. It’s truly one of those things where you get what you put in—and all it takes is a little time and a willingness to play.
In this class, we’ll explore the basics of hooping and how it can benefit your body and mind. You’ll build coordination by learning new moves that challenge your hands, eyes, and overall body awareness. You’ll start to notice how your body naturally adapts to keep the hoop going, improving blood flow and getting your heart rate up. Not everything has to stay “on-body”—we’ll also explore off-body tricks, body rolls, and ways to tap into flow state, which is deeply calming and meditative.
There’s no rigid list of moves we’ll follow—we’ll shape the class around the group. As we grow together, beginners can share what they’ve learned, and more experienced hoopers can help guide new tricks. This is a community-driven space to play, learn, and grow through movement.
