Hooked on Vulvas – Häkel dir eine Vulva! Teil 2

Crochet your own vulva decoration: individual, colorful and guaranteed unique.

What to expect:

In this three-hour workshop, we will crochet our own textile vulvas. In the end, you will have an individual vulva with a hanging loop, for decorating walls, Christmas trees, or whatever you choose!

Do I need prior experience?

Basic crochet skills are desirable. If you successfully completed Part 1 or have ever crocheted a potholder in single crochet, you are well prepared to finish your own vulva within the workshop. If you don't finish during the workshop, you can keep crocheting at home at your own pace with the help of a handout.

Materials:

If you have them, feel free to bring your own crochet hook, darning needle, yarn and beads.

Some crochet hooks and darning needles will be available during the course. A large selection of yarns and beads is available for a voluntary donation.

Crochet hooks can be purchased on site if needed, so you can keep crocheting at home.

3 hours, 6:30–9:30 pm

Short bio:

Marlene is an educator and craftivist from Berlin. With needle and yarn, she creates textile vulvas that combine traditional handicraft with feminist art. (Instagram: @hooked_on_vulvas)

Her work celebrates the diversity of human vulvas and questions notions of norms, beauty and gender. Using the method of "freeform crochet" instead of fixed crochet patterns, each vulva develops in the process, with its very own shape, texture and character. With humor and body positivity, she makes visible and tangible what is often taboo, and invites people to look at physical diversity in a new way.

Was du erwarten kannst:

In diesem dreistündigen Workshop häkeln wir unsere eigenen textilen Vulven. Am Ende entsteht eine individuelle Vulva mit Aufhänger, die zum Beispiel an der Wand, am Autospiegel oder am Weihnachtsbaum ihren Platz finden kann.

Brauche ich Vorkenntnisse?

Grundkenntnisse im Häkeln sind erwünscht. Wer Teil 1 erfolgreich abgeschlossen hat oder schonmal einen Topflappen aus feste Maschen gehäkelt hat, hat gute Voraussetzungen, die eigene Vulva innerhalb des Workshops fertigzustellen. Falls du während des Workshops nicht fertig wirst, kannst du mithilfe eines Handouts in Ruhe zu Hause weiterhäkeln.

Material:

Wenn vorhanden, bring gerne deine eigene Häkelnadel, Stopfnadel, Garn und Perlen mit.

Einige Häkelnadeln und Wollnaden stehen während des Kurses zur Verfügung. Eine große Auswahl an Garnen und Perlen steht gegen eine freiwillige Spende zur Verfügung.

Häkelnadeln können bei Bedarf vor Ort erworben werden, um zuhause weiterhäkeln zu können.
