Texas has historically struggled with providing adequate mental health services. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, Texas ranks 50th out of 50 states in terms of mental health workforce availability, with only 185 providers per 100,000 people.

Mental health services are crucial for women who are unable to access abortion services in Texas due to restrictive state laws. The emotional and psychological impact of being denied the right to make decisions about their bodies can be profound and long-lasting.

We are raising funds to facilitate Mental Health First Aid Workshops throughout Houston. The Mental Health First Aid course is designed to give ordinary people the skills to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis or intervene early to prevent a situation from occurring. The program is based on the principle that early intervention prevents mental illness from becoming more severe by encouraging people to seek help early.
