The Roanoke Valley Collective Response invites the greater community to International Overdose Awareness Day on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 5–7 PM at the Taubman Museum of Art (110 Salem Ave., Roanoke, VA).
Observed globally on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is a time to remember without stigma those we have lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of family and friends, and take action to prevent overdose. IOAD is recognized as a global campaign focused on remembrance, awareness, and life-saving action, and 2026 marks its 25th anniversary. (overdoseday.com)
This year, we will gather for an evening of hope, healing, and remembrance as we honor lives lost, support those impacted, and connect our community to local resources.
Event Highlights
Memorial Wall: Bring a photo of your loved one.
Tribute Slideshow: Submit the name of a loved one for inclusion in the tribute slideshow by emailing [email protected].
Community Resources: Connect with local prevention, treatment, recovery, and support services.
A Welcoming Space: For healing, reflection, and hope.
As we recognize 25 years of IOAD, we join communities around the world in remembering every life, challenging stigma, and strengthening overdose awareness and prevention. (overdoseday.com)
Please share widely. All are welcome.
