An introductory beekeeping workshop at Rock Point
About this Event

Curious about beekeeping? Join us for an engaging, hands-on introduction to the world of honey bees.This two-hour workshop is perfect for beginners who want to understand the basics of beekeeping and explore the fascinating ecology and behaviors of bees during the height of summer activity.Led by Deborah Rubin—beekeeper from the Vermont Beekeepers Association—this class will introduce you to:

  • How bees explore and understand their world
  • Bee biology and colony structure
  • Seasonal tasks for summer beekeeping
  • Hive inspection basics
  • How bees support our ecosystem

We’ll begin at the conference center at 20 Rock Point Road for an introduction in the classroom, and take a short drive to visit our active hives. Beekeeping protective gear will be provided.

Workshop takes place from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, Saturday, September 12th with rain date of Sunday, September 13th.

Registration fees: We offer a sliding scale to make this workshop accessible. Please choose the level that’s right for you—every ticket supports our beekeeping education programs for youth and adults.No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity!
